DTR (Diphtheria Toxin Receptor) and enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP) are expressed under the regulatory control of Lcn2 gene elements. Lcn2-positive cells display green fluorescence, injecting diphtheria toxin (DT) can selectively ablate these cells. This model enables EGFP fluorescence protein tracing studies.
