遺伝子研究の概要
Cyp2j11 is a gene belonging to the cytochrome P450 CYP2J subfamily. Members of this subfamily are involved in the metabolism of fatty acids, generating bioactive compounds. They participate in processes such as the metabolism of arachidonic acid (AA), linoleic acid (LA), and other lipids and xenobiotics [1,4].
Quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) analysis showed that Cyp2j11 was highly expressed in both male and female mouse kidneys [1]. Tissue distribution studies also found that Cyp2j11 transcripts were most abundant in the kidney and heart, with protein detected primarily in the kidney (proximal convoluted tubules), liver, and heart (cardiomyocytes) [4]. In addition, sex differences in Cyp2j11 mRNA levels were observed in both wild-type and GHR deficient mice, and the constant GH infusion induced heart Cyp2j11 in male C57/B6 mice [2]. HL-1 cells expressed Cyp2j11 to the same extent as mouse hearts, and these cells can metabolize AA to various products, suggesting a role in cardiovascular-related AA metabolism [3]. Also, in a study on selenium against liver injury induced by beta-cypermethrin in mice, Cyp2j11 was significantly enriched in functional categories related to retinol metabolism, linoleic acid metabolism, and Jak-STAT signaling pathway [5].
In conclusion, Cyp2j11 is significantly expressed in multiple tissues like the kidney, heart, and liver, and is involved in fatty acid metabolism, especially AA and LA metabolism. Its expression shows sex-related differences and is associated with some liver injury-related pathways. The study of Cyp2j11 in mouse models helps to understand its role in these biological processes and related disease conditions.
