Pgm5, also known as phosphoglucomutase-like protein 5, is a metabolic enzyme involved in the metabolism of glucose-1-phosphate and glucose-6-phosphate [2]. Overexpression of PGM5 repressed prostate cancer cell proliferation and migration in vitro [3].
In conclusion, Pgm5 appears to have potential importance in cancer biology, especially as a diagnostic and prognostic biomarker in liver, colorectal, and prostate cancers.
